Chapter 1: Clinical Overview
Scabies is a skin condition caused by tiny mites burrowing into the skin, leading to itching, irritation, and rashes.
Scabies is common and can affect people of all ages.
Scabies can be irritating, uncomfortable, and sometimes very itchy.
Scabies may indicate close contact with someone who has the condition and requires prompt treatment to prevent spreading.
If the symptoms are severe, worsening, not improving, or recurring despite following recommended treatments, a referral to a doctor may be necessary.
