    Limit exposure to pollens

    Remain indoors (when possible) during pollen season (mainly spring) especially on windy days and after thunderstorms.

    Avoid activities that cause exposure to pollens like mowing the lawn.

    Shower after being outdoors when pollen counts are high.

    Re-circulate air in the car when pollen counts are high.

    Dry clothing and bedding indoors when pollen counts are high.

    Use a saline nasal spray or wash.

    Limit exposure to dust mites

    Wash sheets, pillowcases and other bedding in hot water every week.

    Use dust mite resistant covers on pillows, quilts and mattresses.

    Remove woollen or sheepskin underlays from beds.

    Remove carpeting from bedrooms (if possible).

    Remove soft toys from bedrooms.

    Limit exposure to pet dander and mould

    Keep pets out of bedrooms.

    Keep pets outside.

    Remove visible mould with appropriate cleaning products.

    Ensure adequate natural ventilation and use extractor fans in bathrooms.

    Avoid working with garden compost and other garden waste.
