Avoid spreading the virus
Avoid close contact with others, especially kissing and hugging.
Do not share things like cutlery and drink bottles/glasses with others.
Practice good hygiene such as washing hands or using hand sanitiser after coughing and blowing or wiping the nose.
-

Self care
Drink plenty of clear fluids like water to keep hydrated.
Apply a moist, warm washcloth to your face several times a day.
Use a humidifier and/or inhale steam 2-4 times a day and/or take a hot shower – these will help clear a blocked nose.
-

If an allergic reaction occurs
Try to avoid known triggers like pets, house dust, pollens and grass seeds.
Remain indoors (when possible) during pollen season, especially on windy days and after thunderstorms.
Use recirculated air in the car when pollen levels are high.
