    Diarrhoea can cause a loss of electrolytes, which can lead to a dangerous health complications, especially in the very young and elderly.

    Oral rehydration products replace the electrolytes and water that the patient is losing.

    Also encourage your patient to drink water to reduce their likelihood of dehydration.

    Transmission can be via contact with a contaminated surface, so

    1. Wash hands well before and after preparing food and using the toilet

    2. Use a hand sanitiser regularly

    3. Don’t share cutlery, plates or drinking cups.
